Emergency Advisory (July 2015)

The Ministry of Durian (MOD) has been closely monitoring the Durianitis situation in Pahang. While the situation remains fluid, the Ministry's assessment continue be that the Durian outbreak poses low public health risk.

Durianitis is a highly infectious disease that is found in many countries, including Singapore. In June 2015, Russia announced Durianitis outbreaks in capital Moscow. This is in addition to 5914562 local cases reported during the same period. Half of the local cases were adults who had missed their running vaccination. The affected reported turning green and growing spikes resembling Durians in outward appearance. They had a unquenchable thirst for D24 and MSW. In some cases, gaining inhumane strength, splitting Durians open with their bare hands

THE CURE - Run a Relay

The best way to prevent Durianitis is by vaccination (running). Running is recommended under the Official Durian Run Singapore. Most Singaporeans have developed immunity either from vaccination, or through natural disdain for the Durian smell. Hence, we recommend all

  • Each member would run a 1.2km loop as fast as they can. And relay to another member.
  • 16 loops collectively

  • We are promoting the Bring Your Own Bottle (BYOB) initiative as part of our effort to reduce wastage of cups used for hydration. Support this initiative :
  • Bring 1 bottle, cup or container of your own. You may wish to make a marking on it to identify it as yours:
    • And/Or
  • Carrying your own hydration bag/bottle & refilling it at the water station.
  • You may leave your bottle/cup/container at the Water Station located at the Main Event Site (subject to availability of space) or any location where you can retrieve the bottle conveniently.
  • To fill it up, simply bring your bottle/cup/container to the Water Station, inform the volunteer regarding the type of drink you wish to fill it up with & the volunteer will gladly assist you.
  • Re-usable Cups will also be provided. Only 1 cup will be provided per participant.
