Welcome Messages from Course Director and Workshop Chairperson
Dear Friends and Colleagues,
It gives me great pleasure to warmly welcome you to the 19th Advanced Neuroradiology Course and 5th Interventional Neuroradiology Workshop 2019.
This annual Course is part of the National Neuroscience Institute of Singapore (NNI) commitment to continuously providing quality neuroradiology education in this region. We aim to deliver the latest updates and reviews on neuroimaging techniques and knowledge, for application in clinical practice.
We are extremely honoured to be joined by a panel of distinguished and renowned faculty, both from abroad and locally. Their dedication and willingness to teach, are what makes this Course a success year after year. They will be covering a comprehensive range of topics including brain tumour imaging, neurodegenerative imaging, stroke imaging, vascular imaging, spine imaging and head & neck imaging.
The Interventional Neuroradiology Workshop combines lectures and hands-on sessions to cover topics including endovascular thrombectomy, aneurysm, arteriovenous fistulas, tumour embolisation and pharmacology relevant to the neurointerventionalist. The Radiology Resident Review session aims provide attendees exposure to high-yield neuroradiology cases.
We hope you will enjoy the Course and your time here in Singapore. We look forward to welcoming back old friends and making new ones too!

19th Advanced Neuroradiology Course
It is indeed my great pleasure to welcome you all for the 5th Interventional Neuroradiology Workshop as well as the 19th Advanced Neuroradiology Course, conducted by the National Neuroscience Institute, Singapore.
Interventional Neuroradiology is one of the rapidly evolving and exciting clinical specialties whose future is more promising than ever before. With multitude of recent innovations, novel techniques and evidence based clinical practices; the Neurointerventionist is expected to be up to date with advances in techniques, current recommendations and the latest tools that are available at our disposal. Equally important is the sound understanding of the neurovascular anatomy, natural history of various cerebrovascular diseases and the knowledge of various pharmacological agents.
With this philosophy in mind, we have carefully curated an assorted set of topics for discussion in this year’s workshop. The educational talks are delivered in the form of didactic lectures with the topics including pathophysiology and imaging findings of cerebrovascular diseases, recent recommendations in stroke treatment, pharmacology relevant to the Neurointerventionalist, novel tools such as 3D printing and many more. This will be followed by a completely hands-on workshop led by experts and supported by industry partners on the latest instruments and tools available in the region. As a new addition we have also included an exciting neurovascular anatomy quiz to measure yourself up with your colleagues.
So, please come and meet with your friends and colleagues to be enlightened on the latest updates from world-renown international faculty as well as take part in lively discussions sharing your experience with others. We hope this workshop will be of immense value for all the medical personnel managing cerebrovascular diseases and will have an immediate impact on your practice.
The course venue is in the heart of Singapore, next to metro train station, many hotels, malls and restaurants. We hope you all enjoy the course and have a good time here in Singapore!
