Did you recently attend a D&D (Dinner & Dance) where you work? Well, Singapore Vegetarian Meetup is doing our own version of D&D: Dinner and Documentary.
The dinner is at Eight Treasures vegetarian restaurant, right in the heart of Chinatown - http://www.8treasuresgroup.com.sg – and the documentary is ‘Cowspiracy’ - http://www.cowspiracy.com. The 2014 film, which has yet to be screened in SG, explores the environmental destruction caused by animal agriculture (a.k.a., factory farming) and asks why more is not done to stop animal agriculture (such as why aren’t there more Vegetarian Meetup Events?).
Dinner will begin promptly at 7pm. The screening of Cowspiracy (91 minutes) will begin at 8pm. Here is the menu (no onion and garlic):
Cost is $30 (by advance payment), which pays for the food and the US$108 licensing fee for the film. Reservations are confirmed upon receipt of payment.
Here's the mouth-watering menu, prepared exclusively for us:
5 Star Combination Platter
Spinach with Wolfberries Soup
Sour & Spicy Nonya Veg. Fish
Baby Kai Lan with Shiitake Mushroom
Macadamia with Apple and Celery
Beancurd with Monkey Head Mushroom and Brocolli
