About this Programme
Because law firms are entrusted by their clients with significant amounts of confidential information, data and cybersecurity breaches are not only embarrassing and financially costly, but may also undermine the trust that is a critical element of the solicitor-client relationship. At the same time, increasingly sophisticated social engineering techniques have also made it easier for attackers to target weak spots in the law practice infrastructure through business email compromise.
This seminar aims to provide its participants with a comprehensive overview of how to handle data and cybersecurity breaches, with reference to recent high-profile cases and the data protection advisory issued by the Council of the Law Society to all members in July 2019. This seminar will feature speakers from the Law Society’s Cybersecurity and Data Protection Committee who will share their insights on preventing and responding to cybersecurity and data breaches, as well as addressing issues raised by business email compromise. This seminar is suitable for all lawyers and staff in law practices.
