About Lit Up 2014
To walk the equator is to cross between time zones and states of knowing, to traverse this line that exists on maps more as a concept than an actual boundary. This year, artists interpret, through a wide variety of genres, the storms and sunny days that sweep through us from this island city and onto further shores.
There is a distinct regional flavor in Lit Up 2014; from a latitudinal approach to puppetry to a Balinese take on pantomime, an explosion of genre-busting bands and two eclectic spoken word troupes. There is also a Market of Experiences, promising a sensorial feast, and a bevy of workshops and talks for something more interactive.
