The Public & International Law Committee of The Law Society of Singapore is proud to present the Public Law Conference 2019.
This one-day conference seeks to promote interest in the administrative and constitutional law of Singapore, highlight new judicial decisions and also facilitate discussion of recent developments in these areas of law. It is hoped that this conference will attract participation from all sectors of Singapore’s legal industry and beyond, as it touches on topics and matters that impact the lives of each one of us.
Over three plenary sessions, different panels will cover three diverse topics: the interpretation of constitutions and statutes, the freedom of speech, and pertinent topics in Singapore’s constitutional law. Each session will examine the latest, relevant developments, such as hot-off-the-press legislation or court decisions from the last year.
Each panel will comprise eminent practitioners and prominent scholars, who have been invited to share their views and experiences in the fields of Singapore’s administrative and constitutional law. Expect to hear a diversity of views and opinions, as this conference seeks to stimulate thought and dialogue on these fundamental aspects of Singapore law.
This conference will be relevant to all legal practitioners, government decision makers, public-sector policy makers, academics and law students interested in administrative and constitutional law. This conference aims to provide a platform to hear from experts in these areas of law, and for the sharing of ideas between different sectors of the legal industry.
We look forward to seeing you on 8 October 2019!
