Note this training is being performed in Singapore by trainers from Fraunhofer IPA. The course material is different to the previous Basic developer training as this adds a day of Linux introduction and the ROS Basic training includes navigation work with turtlebots.
This is the first time we are offering a class for an introduction in Linux, ROS navigation modules and advanced topics listed below.
0930-1700 29 January – Day 1: Linux
0830–1730 30 January – Day 2: ROS Introduction
0830-1730 31 January – Day 3: Manipulation
0830 –1745 1 February – Day 4: Navigation
0830-1715 2 February - Day 5: Advanced Topics

Note upon registration you are required to ensure that you have a laptop that with good graphics card.
The training is using a bootable USB3 to boot up the training material separately
Prerequisites: Linux/Ubuntu familiarity, C++ experience and a desire to program robots! If you are doing the basic course this can also count towards Linux familiarity!

For non-members, government members, or for seats in excess of your limit, the training is per attendee. Space for the training is limited and will be provided on a first-come, first-served basis.

Day 1 - Introduction to Linux
For those who want a refresher in Linux or learn the basics before learning ROS
- Linux Introduction
- Shell Basics
- Python Scripting
Days 2-4 - ROS-I Basic Training (introduction, manipulation, navigation)
- ROS introduction and basic concepts
- ROS Programming and tools
Day 3: Manipulation:
- Robot Description and Transforms, MoveIT!, Workshop with a UR cobot and test your program
Day 4: Navigation:
- Mapping (SLAM), Workshop with turtlebot3 and test on our small navigation test area.
Days 5 - Advanced ROS Topics:
- Statemachine-based programming tools
- Best Practices from development to release of tools / packages (Build, test and release workflow and tools)
