The Internet of Things (IoT) is rapidly expanding as a complex, decentralized network of all sorts of connected devices from industrial machines through self-driving cars to smart home appliances. This growth opens up exciting new services and business opportunities. Unfortunately, it also gives rise to a host of new security threats.

As the volume of sensitive data transferred over the IoT increases, so does the risk of data and identity theft, device manipulation, data falsification, IP theft and even server or network manipulation. Performance and security requirements vary considerably from one IoT application to another. One constant, however, is the fact that the success of smart homes, connected cars and Industry 4.0 factories hinges on user confidence in robust, easy-to-use, fail-safe security capabilities.

In this roundtable session, two industry leaders outline their strategies and solutions for ensuring a safer IoT landscape. Infineon will discuss key IoT security trends and present case studies to illustrate how IoT systems can be made safe and reliable. MediaTek will present a reference design incorporating Infineon’s embedded security technology that will enable developers to integrate robust security into WiFi-enabled IoT hardware without escalating costs and development times.

Join us at this networking lunch to learn how to design the right security solutions into your own IoT systems and increase user confidence in your smart solutions.
