About the Programme
The first in a series of webinars targeted at exploring the public international law aspects of the COVID-19 global health situation, this session is intended to discuss how the pandemic could affect some of the international law obligations of States. It will also briefly raise potential legal justifications for a State’s actions to prevent COVID-19, such as necessity, force majeure, public health, national security and police powers. This webinar will commence with a presentation by Dr. Nilüfer Oral, following which Dr. Oral and Ms. Charis Tan will hold a discussion on the topic.
